Materials: Meter stick, metric ruler, string
Procedure: Measure the length of the following items for your Learning Buddy and put them in the Data table below. Enter all data to tenths except for meters, do this in hundredths.
1. Height without shoes in meters (use decimals i.e. 1.53 m)2. Width of the fingernail on the index finger of your right hand (in mm)
3. Length of your right forearm from top of bone on wrist to end of elbow (in cm.)
4. Length of your left foot, without, shoes or socks, (in cm.) (phew!)
5. Circumference around your head 2 cm above the eyebrows (in cm.)
6. Length of your right lower leg bone from middle of ankle to middle of kneecap (in cm.)
7. Length of your left little finger from tip to middle of knuckle (in mm.)
8. Overall length of right hand, from vee in palm to tip of middle finger (in cm.)
WHEN YOU ARE DONE - Turn over the sheet and write out the paragraph required for the First Measurement only
Part Two - Answer these questions using CQC sentences and 6 Trait writing techniques.
First Measurement - Prediction: Write a short paragraph predicting how you will grow, with respect to the measurements you took today.
Second Measurement - Analysis: (You may attach a piece of paper if necessary to do CQC work.)
o Look at the data and, in short, complete, and neat sentences, explain which of the eight ways you grew, or did not grow over the time period.
o You must explain any decrease in terms of what type of errors you think you made, or give a physical reason to explain it.
Second Measurement - Prediction - Write a short, yet humorous, paragraph in which you make a prediction of your future overall growth and development based upon the analysis of your growth in these areas for the past months.
