Troubleshooting UV Beads Procedureall rights reserved
Help! Mr Schmieds TAs cut up our procedure for the UV Beads Lab! Your mission is to put the entire procedure back together so we can do the lab !
Instructions:
a. Cut on the black lines below to make 16 procedure stripsb. Rearrange the 16 strips so the procedure is in proper order
c. Glue the strips down on printer paper in order.
d. Put your name / period # on the papers and bring the job to class!
The mixed up Procedure is below!
1. Observer compares color of UV beads in each trial to Color card while at the lab station.
Recorder records the color of the UV beads in Lab in UV Beads Data Table _______________________
2. Team repeats observation sequence for Controls and Experimental Trial every 30 sec for 4 minutes _________________________________ __
3. 5 seconds before 30 sec observation Timekeeper says Standby
At 30 sec Timekeeper tells team "Mark ____________________ _
4. Send one team member to get Trial A & B UV Bead samples for lab station
a. Color card and clipboard
b. 1 UV Beads Team Data Table, clipboard & pencil
5. Timekeeper says Start& starts stopwatch.
At start Operator takes both bags out of shirt & lays both flat on clipboard in sunlight / skylight
6. Procedure: Read entire procedure before starting.
Each team member makes a draft Class Data Table & puts safely in their binders
7. Title: Troubleshooting UV Beads Procedure .
8. At Mark Observer tells Recorder the number of the color of the UV beads for the Control and then the Experimental Trial
Recorder properly records new data in Data Table
9. Team calculates differences between Avg Control & Avg Exp data for each observation and double checks data.
Each person CQCs their own Data Table and saves the draft DT
10. Observer gets color card and clipboard ready
11. Team goes inside to lab
12. Team goes to lab station and pre-reads all instructions
Team appoints Operator, Observer, Timekeeper, and Recorder. If 3 people, on team,double up the Timekeeper and Recorder .
13. Once beads are outside shirt, Observer immediately notes color of each trial & tells Recorder the number on color chart.
Recorder properly records data in Data Table
14. Once inside data complete, Operator places both samples under jacket/shirt and keep samples out of sun/skylight .
15. Recorder enters data on Class Data Table, gives Team Data Table to Instructor
Team records class data from Class Data Table into team members Data Tables
16. Instructor oks team to go outside Team goes out to assigned station
