Light Off

1. Check to see all personnel have proper Personal Protective Equipment on. Clear work area of all unnecessary or flammable materials. Have matches, match cup, & Tirrell burner ready.

2. Gently screw down the barrel of the burner until the air supply valve is closed.

3. Light a match

4. Turn on gas and light the burner. Put match in match cup

5. Slowly open the air supply valve until the burner has about a 1" to 1 1/2" high blue inner flame cone.

 

Shut Down

1. Turn off the gas

2. Screw down burner barrel to close air supply valve

3. Clean up the area, throw away used matches (wet) in specified container.

4. Properly stow all equipment.
